We train/teach in small groups for maximum safety and enjoyment. Discover Scuba Diving experiences are kept to a maximum ratio of 2 participants to 1 Instructor. Diving Courses are kept to a maximum of 4 students to 1 Instructor. ON YOUR OWN? NO PROBLEM. We are more than happy to teach/train and guide to a ratio of 1 Participant/Student to 1 Instructor with NO EXTRA CHARGE.

All Diving Courses are Certified by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors, (PADI), the largest and most recognised recreational diving authority in the world.

Discover Scuba Diving!

Take the plunge and experience Scuba Diving in just 2½ hrs in 3 easy steps.
1.) Includes a briefing on basic diving physics and how to use the Scuba equipment safely and the skills that you will practice in confined shallow water.
2.) In shallow water, deep enough to stand up in, practice Scuba skills together with your Instructor - Regulator Clearing - Regulator Recovery - Mask Clearing - Alternate Air Source Use - Equalisation techniques etc.
3.) Dive up to 45 minutes together with the Instructor on the House Reef right in front of the Dive Center in warm clear water abundant in fish species and beautiful corals with a myriad of colours.
On completing a Discover Scuba Diving experience you'll receive a certificate of participation. The Certificate allows you to Dive again under the direct supervision of PADI professionals

Pre requisites : Be 10 years old. To Scuba Dive safely you should not be extremely overweight or out of condition. Your respiratory and circulatory systems must be in good health. All body airspaces must be normal and healthy. Please read the medical statement (EN, DU, FR, GER,) for further guidance.

If after your Discover Scuba Diving experience you would like to enrol in the PADI Open Water Diver course with Tarvis Dive Center you will receive credit towards the course (making your Discover Scuba Diving experience free of charge).

SCUBA DIVER

Entry level to Scuba Certification : 2 Days

Includes all teaching materials and full set of equipment during the course.

The PADI Scuba Diver course is designed to take you through the first part of the Open Water course and leads to a limited certification which can be upgraded any time to the full Open Water Diver certification.

Gain essential Scuba skills and knowledge to make your diving safe and fun. Course contents are : academic training, self study sessions, confined water training and 2 Open Water Dives.

3 modules of theory ( Watch the first 3 DVD modules from the Open Water Diver course. Completing the knowledge reviews and quizzes. Review together with Instructor ) Confined water training modules 1 - 3 Briefing and equipment assembly. Shallow water Scuba skills practice, debriefing, and equipment disassembly. Open Water Dive 1 and 2.

Scuba Diver Certification is ideal for those who want to get a diving license but are limited in time to complete the full Open Water Diver course. Scuba Divers must be guided or accompanied by Certified PADI Professionals to a maximum depth of 12m

Having gained the PADI Scuba Diver license you may upgrade to the full PADI Open Water Diver certification.

To upgrade to the PADI Open Water Diver certification, all that's required is to complete modules 4 - 5 of theory. Watch 4 - 5 DVD modules, complete knowledge reviews, quiz and final exam, Make Open Water Dives 3 and 4.

Open Water Dive Course at Tarvis Dive Center

Designed to make learning both easy and fun, the PADI Open Water Diver course takes you through the essential steps to becoming a fully certified Scuba Diver. Progress from training in the confined shallow water right in front of the Dive Center to making your Open Water Dives on the beautiful coral Reefs, around and in close proximity of Modessa Island.

Complete Modules 1 - 5 theory and knowledge reviews, DVD's, quizzes and final exam. Confined water training modules 1 - 5 Open Water Dives 1 - 4.

Open Water Divers are certified to dive to a maximum depth of 18m.

Pre requisites for Scuba Diver and Open Water Scuba diver : the ability to swim a distance of 170m or snorkel a distance of 800m with no swim aids in no given time and float or tread water thereafter for 10 minutes in a confined body of water (swimming pool like conditions) Be 15 years old. Be 10 years old for Jnr Scuba Diver, Jnr Open Water Diver. If over 55 years old have a written signed approval of physical fitness to Dive from a Physician knowledgable in Diving Medical Conditions. Advanced Open Water Diver : 2 Days

Take your diving experiences to the next level. Get certified to dive to 30m. Develop your Scuba Diving skills and knowledge with the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver. This course offers something for everyone, a great way to gain experience in some of the many different types of diving activities available.

If you complete any three adventure dives you can earn your PADI Adventure Diver certification. If you complete your PADI Deep Adventure Dive, PADI Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive and any three Adventure Dives ( 5 in total ) you can earn your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

Complete knowledge reviews from the Adventures in Diving Manual and make 5 Adventure Dives

PADI Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive : Master the art of Underwater Navigation. During this dive you will learn how to use a compass on land and then underwater. Starting with simple navigation patterns moving onto more complex ones combined together with natural navigation techniques. Know where you are, feel more relaxed and comfortable.

PADI Deep Adventure Dive : Open Water Dive Course at Tarvis Dive Center Dive to a maximum depth of 30m and learn how depth and pressure affect your body while Scuba Diving. Learn more about safety and limitations while Scuba Diving. Choose 3 other Adventure dives of your choice : Peak Performance Buoyancy, Night Dive, Search And Recovery Diver, Naturalist Dive, Underwater Videographer etc. Advanced Open Water Divers are certified to dive to a maximum depth of 40m with Deep Diver training.

If you did not Dive within the last 5 - 6 months we recommend you make a Scuba Review before diving or starting the course (Quick Review Form). A multiple choice 34 questionnaire from the Open Water Diver manual, answers are reviewed, along with a shallow water practice session to familiarise yourself with Diving and buoyancy skills. Combine the Scuba Review with the Advanced Open Water Diver course and get it FREE of charge. Pre requisites : Open Water Diver or equivalent from another Diver training organisation, be I5 years of age, 12 years of age for Jnr Advanced Open Water Diver.

Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) teaches how to respond to life threatening emergencies. Develop your rescue skills and knowledge while practicing different emergency situation scenario's and build self confidence in your ability to provide care.

Primary Care ( CPR ) will prepare you to provide aid in life - threatening emergencies

Includes : Scene Safety Assessment, Universal Precautions, Communicable Disease, Protection and use of barriers, Primary Assessment, Rescue Breathing, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR ), Conscious and Unconscious Obstructed Airway Management, Serious Bleeding Management, Shock Management and Spinal Injury Management.

Secondary Care ( First Aid ) build on your Primary Care skills and learn to assist in situations when Emergency Medical Care is delayed or unavailable.

Learn : Injury Assessment, Illness Assessment, Bandaging, Splinting for Dislocations and Fractures.

During the course you will reference sections on Allergic Reactions, Bruises, Burns, Chemical Burns, CPR ( Adult, Child, Infant ), Choking ( Adult, and Infant ), Cone Shell stings, Coral, Jellyfish and Hydroid Stings, Cuts, Dental Injuries, Diabetic Problems, Dislocations and Fractures, Electrical Injuries, Eye Injuries, First Aid Kit Assembly, Fish Spine Injury, Frostbite, Heat Exhaustion, Heatstroke, Heart Attack, Hypothermia, Illness Assessment, Injury Assessment, Insect Stings, Octopus Bites, Spider Bites, Sprain and Strains, Stroke, Temperature related injuries, Venomous Bites and Stings, and Illness Assessment Record Sheet.

Pre Requisites : No minimum requirement on age or physical condition. We recommend a minimum age of 8.

Rescue Diver

Be prepared to handle Scuba Diving emergencies.

Probably the most rewarding and challenging course : Learn how to Self Rescue. Recognise and manage stress in other divers. Emergency management and equipment. Rescuing panicked divers. Rescuing unresponsive divers.

Improve your skills as an aware and responsible Scuba Diver. During the course you will perform diver assists and rescues, manage diving accident situations and give first aid. Administer rescue breaths both in and out of the water, how to tow and calm a diver in distress, search and recovery techniques, procedures for surfacing and removing an unconscious diver from the water, correct ways to transport divers with suspected DCS ( Decompression Sickness ) and the best way to assist local emergency services.

During the 3 day course complete confined water rescue skills sessions.Practice real life scenario's dealing with panicked, distressed and unconscious divers in the water.

Divemaster

PADI Divemaster course : Age 18 + • Duration : 2 - 6 weeks

Divemaster is the first step to working with Scuba as a Career.

Expand your diving skills and knowledge to the professional level. Working closely together with a PADI Instructor developing your leadership skills, supervise activities and assist instructors with student divers. During the course you will learn dive leadership skills through classroom sessions and by independent study. Develop water skills and partake in stamina exercises. Complete training exercises that stretch your ability to organise and solve problems. Apply your knowledge through an internship or a series of practical training exercises.

The Divemaster course will improve your level of diving skills, increase your knowledge in dive theory along with developing the practical elements of Recreational Scuba. Using mapping techniques you will make a map of a local diving site, test your rescue skills, learn how to handle stressful situations underwater and learn to teach some PADI programs.

PADI Divemasters can work at PADI Dive centers, resorts, live -aboard dive boats. Assist Instructors with students. Lead PADI Scuba Divers on guided tours. Conduct PADI Scuba Reviews. Lead certified divers on Discover Local Diving experiences. Teach and certify PADI Skin Divers. Teach PADI Discover Snorkelling programs. Teach Emergency First Response after completing the Emergency First Response Instructor course.

Course Price : Depends on how long you take to complete the course. There is a basic fee for all course materials and books required. Certification processing costs and you will need to have your own set of equipment. We can help you purchase equipment at discounted prices.

PADI Divemater is the pre requisite for PADI Assistant Instructor and PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor certifications.

Pre requisites : 18 years old. PADI Advanced Open Water or equivalent from an alternative training organisation. PADI Rescue Diver or equivalent from an alternative training organisation. Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care or equivalent form an alternative training organisation, course completed within the last 2 years. Have at least 40 dives at the start of the course and at least 60 for certification.Be fit for diving and submit a Medical Statement signed by a Doctor within the last 12 months.
